Mikonic is guided by the notion of "meraki" - a term used to describe leaving an essence of yourself in anything you do. It is this ethos that continues to shape Mikonic's distinct identity and inform his creative ventures.
Mikonic's deep passion and natural talent for the arts are profoundly influenced by his musically-orientated family. "From birth, I have been involved in music,
mainly because my father was a singer, and his band was constantly booked for shows around Australia - it was something I looked up to and aspired to follow."
Mikonic grew up exposed to this lifestyle and knew from a young age that he wanted to entertain and leave a mark wherever he goes. Following in his father's
footsteps, his first involvement in music was as a vocalist. He would perform occasionally at cultural events, which soon developed his confidence in front of crowds.
In his early teen years, he was introduced to DJing by his older brother, which set the tone for the years to come. By the age of 18, Mikonic had dived into venue
residencies and headline shows within his city's most reputable venues. During this time, he was introduced to Ableton (music production software), which gave
him further insight into the direction he wanted to take in his music. In pursuit of a higher purpose, Mikonic honed in on creating more immersive experiences through
hosting his events and building captivating live shows.
Mikonic's eclectic brand jumps between two distinct styles of music - high-energy electronic music, as well as the sounds of the foreign world. His musical individuality
is cultivated through his alignment with his European roots. He obtained his mantra of "Make foreign familiar" to encapsulate this direction and influence his creative
ventures. His purpose is to draw inspiration and bring home the exemplary entertainment one would find abroad.
